Bean Cobb handcuff without any markings

Dear Joe, dear fellow collectors,

recently I came across a pair of Bean Cobb handcuffs; these cuffs are nothing special when compared with other Bean Cobbs that I saw before, the only difference is that this pair does not have the usual patent dates stamped on the locks.
My question is: was this cuff possibly made before the patent was issued? Or is it possible that the dates were not stamped on replacement locks and that the locks on my cuff were replaced?

Hi Michael,

my Bean Cobbs are also not marked with the patent dates. I once compared them with a marked piece from a fellow collector and noticed that mine also have very slightly different shaped bows. BTW: I got mine from a dealer in Sweden. Maybe Bean Cobbs were also produced in Europe (and not only by Hiatt).
