Alcatraz Prison Handcuffs

Can you give me any information regarding a pair of handcuffs I purchased at auction. The appear to be the Hiatt Flexible handcuffs, although the key and link that join the handcuffs are slightly different. On one of the cuffs Alcatraz Prison is stamped on the links. The words are divided on the link as follows: ALC ATR AZ PRI SON. The two remaining links have no writing on them. There is an 84 stamped on the wide side of the other cuff on the first link after the key hole and hinge. On the end opposite each key hole there are small dots stamped in a circle aroud the outside.

Cuffs marked Alcatraz are very common. They show up on eBay all the time.
Unfortunately they are all modern day reproductions made in India or Pakistan.
The flexible Darby is one style, although standard Darby cuffs are more common.

It is very unlikely that Alcatraz would have ever used Darby handcuffs of any style. They would have used American handcuffs that are quite different.
